OREANDA-NEWS. December 09, 2010. Moldovagaz JSC Chairman of Board Alexandr Gusev informed journalists in Chisinau about that, noting that according to the terms of the contract of gas supply to Moldova for 2007-2011, starting from January 1, 2011 Gazprom will no more apply the reducing co-efficient for Moldova which will be purchasing Russian natural gas at the full average European price.

The price for gas for Moldova is fixed quarterly and is determined basing on the average price at which Gazprom sold gas to foreign countries for nine months preceding the beginning of the year of supply taking into account changes of the world prices for oil products and the reducing co-efficient. In 2010, the reducing co-efficient for Moldova was 0.9.

In 2009, it was 0.8, in 2008 – 0.75. The price for Russian natural gas for Moldova in the IV quarter of 2010 amounted to USD 263.63 for 1,000 cubic meters. In the third quarter of 2010, the price for gas for Moldova amounted to USD 260.67 for 1,000 cubic meters.
