OREANDA-NEWS. December 9, 2010. The Committee of State Energy Supervision of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of RK has issued an operational availability certificate to KEGOC for autumn-winter period 2010-2011.

KEGOC has performed the repair campaign to successfully operate during season peak demand period.  More than 3500 km of 220-1150 kV transmission lines, 44 units of power facilities, 29 units of reactors, 83 units of switching equipment have been repaired. An emergency stock of equipment, materials and spare parts have been replenished; there is a sufficient reserve of transformer oil, petroleum and oil products.

KEGOC has fulfilled the instructions of the Head of the Government on improvement of reliable electricity supply in the capital city of the Republic of Kazakhstan in autumn-winter period 2010-2011. Autotransformer type AT-125 was replaced by 220 kV 250 MVA autotransformer at SS 500 kV TsGPP (central main step-down substation) in Astana.  500 kV 501 MVA autotransformer, which has reached the limits of its standard operation lifetime, was also replaced. Emergency control system of Astana power region was commissioned. In the run-up to significant and important international events – OSCE meeting and Asian Winter Olympic games – the build-up of transformer capacities shall provide stable power supply of the capital city. 

Company has improved technical availability of networks in Zone South. Ground wire at OHTL 500 kV L-5343 Almaty-Shu in Almaty power region under the support of Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of RK and local executive authorities of Almaty and Almaty oblasts was replaced by OPGW. Reliability of power supply of South Kazakhstan oblast was improved due to replacement of AT 60 autotransformer with AT 125 at 220 kV Shymkentskaya SS. Capacity enhancement enables implementations of new projects in this region within State Program of Forced Industrial Innovative Development.
