OREANDA-NEWS. December 10, 2010. Belarus’ farm output increased 0.7% on the year in January-October to 28.084 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br), a source in the National Statistics Committee told.

Sales of fattened cattle and poultry rose 4.9% on the year in January-October to 1.114 million tonnes, milk output rose 0.5% to 5.731 million tonnes, and egg output went up 3.8% to 3.017 billion units.

Return on sales of Belarus’ agribusiness reached 5.3% in January-September 2010, same as in January-September 2009.

Net profit of agricultural companies amounted to 1.5 trillion rubles in January-September 2010, up 9.2% on the year.

In January-September 2010, farms’ net loss reached 31.5 billion rubles, up 190% year-on-year. There were 29 unprofitable farms, compared with 10 loss-makers in January-September 2009.

Overdue payables of Belarus’ agriculture were at 2.1 trillion rubles as of October 1, 2010, 17.7% of all payables.
