OREANDA-NEWS. December 13, 2010. Bakcell, the first mobile operator in Azerbaijan, is pleased to announce that this year at Azeri Business Award-2010 it was nominated with three awards. Attended by the distinguished Azerbaijani business community, Azeri Business Award is annual celebration of the accomplishments of businesses in Azerbaijan. Bakcell received three nominations: “International Recognition” as a personal nomination for the CEO of the company Ms. Ineke Botter and two corporate - “Technology Leader of the Year”, “Corporate Social Responsibility Leader of the Year”, reported the press-centre of Bakcell.  

Ms. Ineke Botter, who attended the ABA Ceremony conveyed her sincere congratulations to each of the award recipients and thanked every company that made this year’s Awards event successful. “It was quite a surprise for me to receive this personal nomination of “International Recognition and I am very much honored. I thank my team who prepared this surprise. This award, established by Media Holding and Business Time Magazine, is there to recognize the dedication, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit of the Azerbaijani business environment,” said Ms. Botter.

Ms. Ineke Botter has many years of international experience in finance and telecommunications. Her telecom expertise is in acquiring mobile telecommunication licenses, starting up telecom operations and change management.  Ms. Botter held managing positions at telecom companies in Ukraine, Hungary, Sweden, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Netherlands, Kosovo, and Lebanon. With 20 years of international senior management experience, she initiated many large scale changes in Bakcell’s operations in Azerbaijan in terms of re-organization, network expansion and rebranding, all of which contributed to a large increase of Bakcell’s subscriber base in an already highly competitive market.

Bakcell was also nominated with “Technology Leader of the Year” and “CSR Leader of the Year” awards of ABA. Bakcell was distinguished for its tremendous achievements in the development and improvement of its network and its well-thought out corporate social responsibility strategy, which contributed to the development of talents and potentials of children in need in Azerbaijan.
