OREANDA-NEWS. December 13, 2010. As part of EuroChem’s environmental protection policies for reducing industrial production impacts on the environment, Kovdorsky GOK, one of the Group’s manufacturing companies, has embarked on a RUB 2.8 million investment project to introduce a continuous monitoring and analysis system for flue gases in the boiler units at the company’s heat and power plant.

Implementation of this project will allow the company to measure concentrations of CO, CO2, NOх and O2 on an ongoing basis, monitor the fuel combustion process, arrange continuous and uninterruptible control and registering of boiler unit emissions, and to assess the conditions and completeness of the combustion process in a timely manner. This project is expected to yield considerable reductions in hazardous air emissions by optimizing the combustion process.

Commissioning of this equipment is scheduled for April 2011.
