OREANDA-NEWS. December 14, 2010. Over the week of December 6-10, 2010, the RTS Index went up by 1.52% to reach 1,712.93 points (1,687.36 points as of December 3, 2010). Most of the positive impact on the RTS Index dynamics was related to the growing prices for ordinary shares of Sberbank (SBERS) (plus 7.09 points) followed by ordinary shares of Gazprom (GAZPS) (plus 4.58 points) and OJSC Uralkali  (URKAS) (plus 3.22 points).

The RTS Standard Index, the blue chips index, gained 0.40% to reach 11,249.81 points (11,204.56 points as of December 3, 2010). The "second-tier" stock index – RTS-2 experienced an increase of 1.20% closing at 2,131.96 points (2,106.60 points as of December 3, 2010).

Last week’s growth on the stock market was accompanied by a decrease of volatility levels when the Russian Volatility Index RTSVX went down by 5.02% to reach 23.66 points (24.91 points as of December 3, 2010).

Last week all the key economy sectors represented on the Russian stock market demonstrated a positive trend. The largest growth was reported by the metallurgy sector, with the RTS Metals & Mining Index adding 3.16%. A significant increase was also shown by the consumer and financial sectors, with the RTS Consumer & Retail Index and RTS Finances Index going up by 2.33% and 2.11% respectively.

The regional index, RTS Siberia Index, added 0.39%.

Last week the US dollar appreciated by 1.18% against the ruble to reach 30.98 rubles per US dollar (31.35 rubles as of December 3, 2010).

The total securities trading volume on RTS for the week of December 6-10, 2010 equaled USD12.89 billion (402.23 billion rubles*), including all types of trades. The trading volume on RTS Standard totaled USD2.636.66 million.

The week's top sellers were Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) with a turnover of USD1,184.9 million followed by Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) with a turnover of USD622.6 million and ordinary shares of OJSC "MMC "NORILSK NICKEL (GMKNS) with a turnover of USD245.8 million. The share of each security in the total trading volume made up 44.46%, 23.36% and 9.22% respectively.

The week's top gainers were ordinary shares of URALSIB  (USBN) that went up by 19.40% to USD0.008 followed by ordinary shares of JSC "Ruspolimet"   (RUSP) – by 18.42% to USD0.0225 and preferred shares of JSC  Nizhnekamskneftekhim  (NKNCP) – by 12.82% to reach USD0.44.

The week's top losers were ordinary shares of OАО "TZA"  (TUZA) that fell 20.90% to reach USD5.3 followed by ordinary shares of  Bashkirenergo   (BEGY) that lost 6.52% to reach USD2.15 and  JSC "IDGC Holding"  (MRKH) that lost 3.07% to reach USD0.1735.
