OREANDA-NEWS. December 15, 2010. Deficit of the balance of trade of Moldova with EU states in January-October 2010 totaled USD 779.5 million, up 30.9% against the same period last year. Export of goods to the European Union states from January through October 2010 grew by 6% in comparison with the same period last year, to USD 571.1 million, according to the National Statistics Office.

Imports to Moldova from the EU increased by 19.1% - to USD 1,350.6 million. The EU states’ share in the total Moldovan exports in the reporting period reduced fro, 52.8% (2009) to 48% (2010), while the share of imports rose from 43.8% (2009) to 44.9% (2010).

In January-October 2010, the largest share of exports to the EU belonged to Romania - USD 204.1 million, Italy - USD 118.4 million, UK - USD 66.4 million, Germany - USD 55.1 million, Poland - USD 35.6 million, Greece - USD 16.2 million, Bulgari - USD 13,5 million, France - USD 10.8 million.

The largest share of imports from the EU states belonged to Romania - USD 301.6 million, Germany - USD 233.2 million, Italy - USD 212.9 million, Poland – USD 83.9 million, Greece - USD 76.2 million.
