OREANDA-NEWS. December 20, 2010. FAS Russia’s delegation visited Vienna (Austria), where the Head of FAS Russia Igor Artemyev had a meeting with Deputy Chair of the Austrian Federal Bureau for State Procurement, Mag. Victoria Mugli-Maschek, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

Igor Artemyev informed Mag. Victoria Mugli-Maschek about the main areas of FAS Russia’s activities, including regulation of state procurement, and the latest changes in Russian antimonopoly law. The Head of FAS Russia pointed out that currently Russia is preparing amendments to its law on state procurement.

In her turn, Mag. Victoria Mugli-Maschek, described the work of Austrian Federal Bureau for State Procurement and its regulatory framework as well as current operations.

The parties signed the Memorandum of Understanding between the Federal Antimonopoly Service and the Austrian Federal Bureau for State Procurement, which opens the prospects for effective cooperation on regulation and control over state procurement.

Within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding the parties will share experience and exchange information in the field of state procurement control. In the future Austria and Russia will organize joint programmes and projects aimed at improving state procurement rules and procedures.

This was the first official meeting of the Heads of the two government authorities, which lays the foundation of joint efforts towards implementing effective state procurement policy in Austria and Russia.
