OREANDA-NEWS. December 22, 2010. Moscow Arbitration Court dismissed the claim of “Novgorod District Veterinary Station” State-Owned Enterprise and upheld the decision of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia), reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

On 4th June 2010, FAS Russia initiated a case against “Novgorod District Veterinary Station” State-Owned Enterprise for violating Part 1 Article 15 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”.

“Novgorod District Veterinary Station” violated the law by exercising state veterinary control of the products of animal origin after industrial or thermal treatment, in particular, sausage products, smoked meat products, canned meat and meat-and-vegetables, and by issuing accompanying veterinary documentation for such products.

Such actions by the veterinary station unreasonably prevent activities of economic entities by setting requirements to the goods or economic entities that are not provided for by the law of the Russian Federation as control over such products (sausage products, smoked meat products, canned meat and meat-and-vegetables) is exercised by Rospotrebnadzor (the Federal Service for Protection of Consumer Rights and Human Well-Being).

The definition of Moscow Arbitration Court on the case No. А40-96441/10-152-518 will be available on the official web-site of the Supreme Arbitration Court of the Russian Federation - www.arbitr.ru - after the text body is prepared in full.
