OREANDA-NEWS. December 22, 2010.  For the fifth time, Interbrand Zintzmeyer & Lux specializing in brand and consulting services included OJSC KAMAZ in the Best Russian Brands 2010 rating.

KAMAZ was named the strongest automotive brand in Russia the value of which is mostly based on its strong heritage and the success shown in the Paris-Dakar rally.

Sergey Kogogin, Director General of OJSC KAMAZ, received congratulations from Nikola Stanish, Director of Moscow’s office of Interbrand Zintzmeyer & Lux. Within two years KAMAZ has raised its position in the rating from the 34th to the 31st one. KAMAZ is the only Russian automotive brand which entered the rating.

Interbrand has been studying companies’ brand promotion since 1988. The Russian brands are examined for the fifth time. There are three key aspects that contribute to the assessment: the financial performance of the branded products or services, the role of brand in the purchase decision process and the strength of the brand.

To date, KAMAZ produces a wide range of high- and medium-tonnage trucks. The company used its high scientific and production potential to produce more than 30 serial models of trucks (over 400 kits). Besides, the enterprise produces trailers, buses, agricultural equipment, diesel and gas engines and power units, tools and accessories. OJSC KAMAZ is a guarantor of Russia’s transport safety, the main supplier of vehicles to the Army and the country’s security, defence and law enforcement agencies.

In 2010, KAMAZ plans to produce and sell over 32 thousand trucks, including 8-14 t GVW vehicles. For 11 months of 2010, about 25 thousand KAMAZ vehicles have been realized in the Russian market, which is by 28.5% more than the performance in 2009. 3.6 thousand trucks have already been exported, which is equal to the level of 2009.
