OREANDA-NEWS. December 23, 2010. Eesti Energia has reached an agreement with French power concern Alstom on the latter's construction of a new shale-burning electrical plant in Narva. The plant's first unit should be completed by 2015, rus.err.ee reported.

"As a result of intensive negotiations with Alstom, we were able to achieve profitable contract terms. At the same time, we cannot make investments without government support.

Before the building work starts a government decision on subsidies for the construction is needed," said Tonu Aas, board member of Eesti Energia's subsidiary Narva Elektrijaamad AS.
