OREANDA-NEWS. December 30, 2010. SEB has completed preparations with all of its services for the transition to the single currency, which will lead to planned downtime in some services over the new year period.

The bank would like to remind customers that ATMs will begin to be filled with euros from 6.00 pm on Thursday 30 December, with the number of machines issuing kroons gradually decreasing. Online channels will go into downtime during the final few hours of 2010 and the first few hours of 2011. The latest information about the downtime and the technical details of the transition can be followed on the web log on the SEB website.

“The changeover to the euro is a massive project affecting the entire banking system, so there’s no way around downtime with some services,” explained Riho Unt, Chairman of the Board of SEB. “So everyone can see for themselves how it’s going in SEB, we’ll have a web log on our site from New Year’s Eve giving regular updates.”

45 people will be working over the holidays in SEB, and most branch staff have been drafted in to work on 1 January 2011.
