OREANDA-NEWS. December 31, 2010. By mid-November 2010, SUEK facilities in Khakassia controlled by the Chernogorsk subsidiary of SUEK have produced over 8.5 million tonnes of coal since the beginning of the year. This amount is as big as the total 2009 output.

"Almost one month and a half SUEK miners in Khakassia will work for a new labour record," says Alexei Keelin, the managing director of Chernogorsk Subsidiary of SUEK. "The record is primarily due to the 2010 upgrading - many units of new, state-of-the art and highly productive equipment were introduced at the surface mines and the underground mine. The good results stem mainly from high professionalism and workmanship of the miners."

The Vostochno-Beysky Surface Mine was first to exceed the 2009 figures in the end of last October and the

Chernogorsk Surface Mine is expected to surpass the last year output in the second 10-day period of November.
