OREANDA-NEWS. January 4, 2011. Belarus’ farm output increased 2% on the year in January-November to 29.256 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br), a source in the National Statistics Committee told.

Sales of fattened cattle and poultry rose 5% on the year in January-November to 1.3 million tonnes, milk output rose 0.7% to 6.2 million tonnes, and egg output went up 3.9% to 3.3 billion units.

Return on sales of Belarus’ agribusiness reached 5.9% in January-October 2010, up from 5.2% in January-October 2009.

Net profit of agricultural companies amounted to 1.6 trillion rubles in January-October 2010, up 14.4% on the year.

In January-October 2010, farms’ net loss reached 34.5 billion rubles, up 160% year-on-year. There were 35 unprofitable farms, compared with 13 loss-makers in January-October 2009.

Overdue payables of Belarus’ agriculture were at 2.1 trillion rubles as of November 1, 2010, 17.7% of all payables.
