OREANDA-NEWS. January 06, 2011. The turnover of the Baku Stock Exchange (BSE) for 2010 totaled USD 2.79 bn (exchange rate: AZN 0.7979 to the US dollar by 1st January) and totaled 67% of the 2009 turnover.

The BSE informs that the total volume of transactions for 2010 for all securities traded in the BSE was AZN 2,226,824,760.42 that is by 33% less versus the 2009 index (AZN 3.323 bn).

In December turnover reached AZN 536.9 million versus AZN 230.066 million in November, AZN 118.65 million in October, AZN 164.3 million in September, AZN 194.916 million in August, AZN 126.958 in July, AZN 105.767 million in June, AZN 140.852 million in May, AZN 220.989 million in April of 2010 and AZN 148.75 million in December 2009.

In 2009, turnover totaled AZN 3.323 bn and the largest volume of turnover in 2009 was registered in January (AZN 1.086 bn).

In 2010, 68.26% of transactions fell on the share of government securities.

In 2008, the BSE overall turnover on all instruments reached AZN 9.519 bn (USD 11.88 bn) that exceeds the 2007 index by 173.39%. For comparison: BSE turnover for 2007 totaled AZN 5.48 bn (USD 6.487 bn) that is by 394.94% more versus the 2006 figures.
