OREANDA-NEWS. January 12, 2011. DTEK rents the whole production complex of state owned coal mining company Dobropolyeugol. The Lease Agreement with 49 years tenure was signed with the Donetsk regional office of the State Property Fund of Ukraine as the result of a tender held in December 2010. Tender application was submitted by DTEK Dobropolyeugol LLC on behalf of DTEK. The deal was finalized on 04 of January 2011.
 
DTEK plans to invest up to UAH 2 billion into the mines of Dobropolyeugol during the next 5 years. The investments will focus on the equipment renewal, capital construction, increasing coal reserves, optimization of seam mining, increasing longwall length and bringing the labor safety management system in compliance with OHSAA 18001-2007 standards at all the mines of Dobropolyeugol.
 
The investments are planned to bring company’s coal production up from 2.8 tons per year now to 5.2 million tons per year by 2015.
 
The produced coal will be supplied to Zuevskaya and Kurakhovskaya TPPs of Vostokenergo (DTEK), Ladyzhinskaya and Burschtynskaya TPPs of Zapadenergo, Zaporozhskaya TPP of Dniproenergo (DTEK) as well as to Avdeevskiy and Alchevskiy coke plants. About 5% of the produced coal will be used for own needs and social programmes, such as heating of cities and towns.
 
DTEK's cooperation with Dobropolyeugol will also include social investment to develop local communal infrastructure of Dobropolye, Belozerskoye, Belitskoye, Novodonetskoye towns, where the mines are located. Local authorities of Dobropolye region have already joined the Social Partnership Declaration of DTEK.

'This tender organized by State Property Fund of Ukraine was a first precedent and gave a start to changes in the coal industry. Now the state owned company Dobropolyeugol has a solid customer base for its product, and access to funding, necessary to maintain and improve its production facilities. Dobropolyeugol will become a part of DTEK’s vertical integration structure and we will take the maximum use of opportunities from that synergy. The Company’s ongoing Strategy will be developed together with employees and trade unions of Dobropolyeugol. DTEK will also bring in its expertise in management and improvement of labor safety systems in accordance with international standards. Also employees of Dopropolyeugol will have an opportunity to participate in ongoing DTEK personnel training and development program.

Today in Baku Indian ambassador to Azerbaijan Debnat Show said that India had already sent its proposals to Azerbaijan on cooperation in oil and gas industry.

"A trade and economic delegation from India will arrive in Baku this March,” he added.
