OREANDA-NEWS. January 13, 2011. Great preparations for the changeover to the euro which started in 2010 have been successfully completed. All Sampo Pank’s services are available to customers again. Such essential services as ATM services, card payments, online banking services were resumed even earlier than planned and they function without any failures.

"The transition to the euro is certainly an historic event for Estonia which will strengthen confidence in the country and its economy,” admitted Aivar Rehe, CEO of Sampo Pank.

"For Sampo Pank the Euro project was indisputably the greatest project of all times. I am pleased that we have managed not only to keep but surpass promises given to our customers. We managed to resume almost all online banking and phone bank services and start providing a full range of banking services in the bank’s outlets one day earlier than planned. I am proud of our success in implementing the Euro project and that we have managed to prove our high professionalism. I thank the staff of our bank for excellent performance. I would also like to thank all our cooperation partners who have contributed to the successful transition to the euro,” added Mr Rehe.

Kroons in cash will be exchanged for euros at the central exchange rate established by Eesti Pank without a commission fee in all Sampo Pank’s outlets until the 30th of June 2011. After the first filling of the ATMs in the new year Sampo Pank’s ATMs will dispense euro banknotes in four denominations: 5-euro, 10-euro, 20-euro and 50-euro banknotes. To help our customers with issues regarding the transition to the euro Sampo Pank’s Customer Info Line on 6 800 800 is open 24/7 from the 27th of December until the 9th of January.
