OREANDA-NEWS. January 14, 2011. The Belarusian Finance Ministry forecasts a budget deficit of 2% of GDP in 2010, Deputy Finance Minister Vladimir Amarin told reporters.

“We expect a deficit of 2% of GDP,” Amarin said. He added that a draft presidential ordinance adjusting the budget bill had been sent to the Presidential Administration.

The budget deficit forecast for 2010 had originally been set at 1.5% of GDP, or 2.7 trillion rubles.

Belarus’ Finance Ministry posted a republican budget deficit of 2.089 trillion rubles, or 1.6% of GDP in January-October 2010. Republican budget revenues amounted to 24.298 trillion rubles in January-October, or 68.4% of the adjusted target for the whole year. Republican budget expenditures reached 26.387 trillion rubles, 65.8% of the target for 2010.
