OREANDA-NEWS. January 14, 2011. Net foreign assets of the Belarusian government and National Bank of Belarus (NBB) amounted to USD 4.446 billion as of December 1, 2010, down 9.4% in January-November.

The increase was due to a rise in gross foreign assets by 12.4% in January-November to USD 6.648 billion and a 120% increase in liabilities to USD 2.202 billion as of December 1, 2010.

Net foreign assets placed in hard currency amounted to USD 4.373 billion as of December 1, 2010, while soft currency assets were at the equivalent of USD 72.5 million.

In 2009, Belarus’ net foreign assets increased 53.3% to USD 4.908 billion.
