OREANDA-NEWS. January 14, 2011. Unsold inventories of Belarusian industrial companies increased 3.3% in November 2010 to 5.597 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br) as of December 1, 2010, an official with Belarus’ Statistics Ministry told.

Overstocks were at 55.6% of the average monthly production volume as of December 1, 2010, down from 54.3% on November 1, 2010 and 75.7% on December 1, 2009.

Inventories of engineering and metalworking companies decreased 0.2% on the month in November to 2.3 trillion rubles, of fuel companies fell 2.4% to 140 billion rubles. Inventories of woodworking and pulp-and-paper companies went down 2.6% to 260 billion rubles, and of ferrous metallurgy companies decreased 3.8% to 91 billion rubles.

In the light industry, inventories rose 3.3% to 529 billion rubles, in the construction materials industry overstocks increased 5.2% to 244 billion. Chemical and petrochemical companies reported a 6.5% rise in stocks to 526 billion rubles, and inventories of food-processing companies rose 11.8% to 1.258 trillion rubles.

In November, inventories of trucks fell 21.2% to 1,660 units, of washing machines 6.2% to 33,400 units, of televisions 5.7% to 32,100 units, and of tractors 4.6% to 3,400 units.

Inventories of electric bulbs fell 6.1% to 8.5 million units, of electric motors 10.2% to 19,400 units, of bicycles 20.3% to 2,100 units.

At the same time, overstocks of buses rose 21.7% to 219 vehicles, of electric cookers rose 40% to 2,800 units, of refrigerators rose 70% to 14,500 units, and of freight cars rose 380% to 53 units.
