OREANDA-NEWS. January 14, 2011. Employees of the city administration’s Department of Civil Acts Registration informed about the results of demographic trends in Nakhodka city district for 2010. According to them, birth rate remains at the same level, the number of marriages continues to grow and the number of divorces decreased significantly against last year.

According to the words of chief of the Department Natalia SHMARGUN, 1,833 newborns were registered in 2010. Among them are 957 boys and 885 girls. The number of families with firstborn children increased as well. 15 couples of twins were born at Nakhodka’s maternity hospital in 2010. The most popular names for boys were Aleksandr, Artyom, Dmitry and Ivan. Girls were often named Daria, Sofia, Anastasia, Viktoria and Ekaterina.

1,506 couples in total decided to register their marriages in 2010. This is 141 couples more in comparison with the previous year. Some of these marriages were concluded between Russians and foreigners. Moreover, the number of divorces decreased significantly against last year and this is a good trend.
