OREANDA-NEWS. January 17, 2011. This year Azerbaijan, which achieved the record of gas export this April, increased gas export in  volume (4.3%) and decreased in value terms (7.6%) in December.

The State Customs Committee (SCC) informs that in 2010 country’s gas export totaled 1.792 bn cu m for USD 288.545 million, including 255.1 million cu m for USD 29.418 million in November (255.1 million cu m and USD 209.418 million in November respectively).

The record export volume of 307.97 million cu m for USD 54.765 million was registered in April.

In 2010 average export price made USD 60.94 per 1,000 cu m. At that, the price which collapsed from USD 204,27 to USD 48.65 per 1,000 cu m in March, “rehabilitated” itself up to USD 177.82 per 1,000 cu m in April and totaled USD 4.43  in May, USD 216.85 in June, USD 191,16 in July, USD 187.5 in August, USD 241.82 in September, USD 217.66 in October,  USD 115.32 in November, and USD  102.15 in December.

For comparison: in 2009 gas export totaled 671.7 million cu m for USD 125.3 million, including in December 50.714 million cu m for USD 17.863 million.

In 2009 gas was exported at the price of USD 186.57 per 1,000 cu m and in December record of export price was achieved of USD 352.24 per 1,000 cu m.

In 2008, the country exported 369.788 million cu m of natural gas for USD 73.87 million at the price of USD 199.77 per 1,000 cu m versus USD 197.67 per 1,000 cu m in 2007.

The statistics takes into account only country’s own export not reporting details of gas export by international contractors from Shah Deniz field.

Azerbaijan has been net exporter of gas since 2007 and, first of all, due to Shah Deniz field.
