OREANDA-NEWS. January 19, 2011. In 2010 the stevedoring companies of the group “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” handled over 12.1 mln tons of cargoes which is by 5% more than in 2009.

Handling volumes of export cargoes have increased by 5% – up to 10.3 mln tons, handling volumes of import cargoes have increased by 6% – up to 1.8 mln tons.

Major part of the turnover of the group was made by loose and bulk cargoes– 5.3 mln tons (+7% in comparison with the figures of 2009) and by general cargoes – 6.7 mln tons (+7%).

Within the reporting period First Stevedoring Company (FSC) handled over 4.9 mln tons of cargoes having improved the indicators of the previous year by 3%.

In particular, handling volumes of ro-ro cargoes at the terminal of FSC put into operation in the 2 quarter of 2009 amounted to 711 thousand tons in 2010.

Second Stevedoring Company handled over 1.9 mln tons of cargoes (+7% in comparison with 2009).

Car Terminal at the Third Stevedoring Company handled over 14.9 thousand import cars within 12 months of 2010. In 2009 handling operations were not performed.

Handling volumes of the Fourth Stevedoring Company have decreased by 13% – up to 3.1 mln tons of cargoes. Decrease of the volumes was caused by the modernization of container handling facility at the territory of the company. 

“Multipurpose Reloading Complex” in Ust-Luga handled approximately 2.2 mln tons of cargoes having increased the annual handling volumes by 47%.
