OREANDA-NEWS. January 20, 2011. Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said that during the years 2011-2012 the Government implements the concepts of information economy and social processes.  This he said at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

"For myself I see the problem that during 2011-2012 years to fully realize the concept of informatization economy and social processes", - said the Prime Minister.

Mykola Azarov informed the Government about the results of yesterday's visit to the Center of High Technologies, noting with pleasure that Ukraine is a European high technology level, which, unfortunately, used in the real economy is still in 1-2% of gross domestic product.  "And it does not satisfy us completely", - he stressed and added: "However, it is important that there are already paving the roads and ideas that bring the creation in Ukraine of high-tech, information, digital society."  Prime Minister reported that the Center of High Technologies developed projects of the "single window" (to be launched into operation already this year), "Electronic government", "Electronic University" system of accounting for utility payments, benefits, compensation, subsidies and so on.

Mykola Azarov said that today the development of high technology is important because of the deregulation, the opportunity to participate in governance of civil society, transparency of government decisions.  "The recently adopted law on access to public information, which today can be provided with information technology systems and software" - he said.

Moreover, Mykola Azarov informed that with the help of digital technology can minimize the problem of bureaucracy and corruption.  "One of the main tasks that we decide today on the instructions of President of Ukraine - a dismantling of bureaucratic corruption and at the same time,"sewn" into it.  Information Digital Technology to minimize communication with public officials and citizens minimize the impact on different spheres of official life.  The only electronic database in the country - a humiliating end of the line for various references in the various institutions and organizations ", - said the Prime Minister.

Besides, according to the Prime Minister, new technologies open new possibilities for citizens - a distance education, medical, telecommunications services of the highest level and so on.

Mykola Azarov noted that due to telecommunication intelligent traffic management systems for Euro 2012 can be reduced by 20% of congestion in Kiev, which will facilitate the implementation of government plans to optimize traffic, with priority given to public transport.
