OREANDA-NEWS. January 25, 2011. In January 2011, the SORAINEN Dispute Resolution Team in Latvia was joined by Valts Nerets. Valts previously worked as a senior associate in a leading Baltic satellite and telecommunications equipment wholesale company, reported the press-centre of SORAINEN.

He also lectures at the Riga Graduate School of Law and is a lecturer and programme director at the College of Business Administration. Together with Valts, the SORAINEN Latvian office now fields its largest team in its 13-year history, with 29 lawyers, of whom five are partners, one is a specialist counsel and 11 are senior associates.

At the end of 2010, the Latvian office also reinforced the Mergers & Acquisitions, Banking, Competition, and Dispute Resolution Practices by inviting three other experienced lawyers to join the team. Former Parex banka legal department manager Ansis Spridzans, former Competition Council legal adviser Ringla Viksne, and from another high level Latvian law firm the experienced lawyer Andris Taurins are a valuable addition to the SORAINEN team.

SORAINEN Latvia office managing partner Eva Berlaus comments: "We are very pleased that we were able to invite to join us exactly those specialists whose experience to date corresponds to those sectors which are currently emerging. This will allow us to continue to provide clients with the highest quality services in those areas and in circumstances where Latvian economic activity is gradually returning and our workload is constantly growing."
