OREANDA-NEWS. January 26, 2011.  OJSC Transsiberian reinsurance corporation European Bureau paid reinsurance indemnity to OJSC Rosgosstrakh over the wind damage at the newly built cargo area of the port of Sochi, which should be further converted into yachting infrastructure. The amount of loss under the share of Transsiberian Re amounted to RUR 1 608,7 thousand. The risk was taken under obligatory property reinsurance treaty through broker company Societe de Courtage Re.

There were insured construction facilities in the newly built cargo area of the port of Sochi in the mouth of the river Mzymta, which were being constructed by the engineering company Transstroy, under the direct contract works insurance treaty, co-insurers for which were IJSC Hephaestus and OIJSC Ingosstrakh. 13-14 December 2009 there were damaged the south-west protective breakwater and coast defenses of the port under construction as a result of the strongest wind, which, according to experts, happens once in a hundred years.

This event was acknowledged as loss occurrence. After receiving the complete package of documents OJSC Transsiberian Re European Bureau paid its share for loss in the amount of RUR 1 608 726,73, including the survey services expenses.
