OREANDA-NEWS. January 27, 2011. Last week, ASTARTA's newly uprated feed factory was launched in Poltava region. The factory had been substantially renovated and modern foreign and Ukrainian equipment had been installed, namely a microdosage line for high quality feed production. An improvement of the feed quality should result in a 20% increase in milk yields.

The factory will produce animal feed for milking and dry cows, as well as for calves. The factory's capacity is 240 tons of feed per day. This capacity is sufficient to supply the Group's farms with animal feed, as well as to sell it to the local market thus increasing sales.

Launching of the feed factory is yet another step to implement ASTARTA's development strategy, including i.a. an organic growth of cattle farming thus benefitting from its synergy with other business segments. Last year, ASTARTA's cattle farms produced 52,000 tons of milk. The Group aims to raise the milk output by 15% to 60,000 tons in 2011.
