OREANDA-NEWS. January 28, 2011.  The company produced 130,000 tonnes of glass products. The plant fully satisfied Belarus’ demand for glass food containers. Moreover, the company exported 70% of products. The main partner of the Gomel plant is SUN InBev Ukraine, an affiliate company of the Anheuser-Busch InBev Beer Concern, according to Valery Chekhovski. “They have already bought the amount of glass containers, which we planned to export in 2011. That is why the plant is operating at full capacity.” Valery Chekhovski said.

Special attention will be given to the reduction of products’ net cost. At the end of 2010 Gomel Glass Container Plant bought industrial premises within the Gomel-Raton Free Economic Zone. There are plans to build a glass waste processing plant there. Glass waste is necessary to produce glass containers. The plant has to import it from Ukraine and the Baltic countries, as there are no glass waste processing facilities in Belarus. “For this reason we decided to fill the void and create our own glass waste processing plant,” Valery Chekhovski said.

It will reduce production expenses, make Belarusian goods more competitive on the market, and improve ecological situation.

Founded in 2008, Gomel Glass Container Plant is the leading glass container manufacturer in Belarus. It is part of ATEC GROUP.
