OREANDA-NEWS. February 01, 2011. OJSC Enel OGK-5 has unveiled its 2010 operating results.

Net power output by Enel OGK-5’s power plants in 2010 totaled 42,829 GWh, a 9.5% increase compared with 2009. The increase in net output was mainly driven by the growth in energy consumption (plus4.6% for European Russia) due to economic recovery, colder weather conditions in the first quarter of the year and exceptionally hot temperatures registered during the summer.

Additionally, net output dynamics were supported by strong performance of the company’s power plants in terms of availability – the availability ratio in the reporting period stood at 83.0%, up 0.5% compared with 2009.

In 2010, coal-fired Reftinskaya GRES posted a net output of 21,991 GWh, its highest level in the last 20 years. The share of the plant in the company’s total net output amounted to 51.3%.

Power sales by the Company totaled 46,028 GWh (plus7.2% on 2009). The share of free market sales increased from 40.7% in 2009 to 66.8% in 2010, driven by the ongoing liberalization process.

Heat output by the Company totaled 6,521 thousand Gcal, roughly in line with 2009 levels.
