OREANDA-NEWS. February 02, 2011. SOLLERS in association with Elabuga Polytechnic College presented a project to train specialists for automotive industry through innovative educational program.

This program aims to create conditions for personnel to meet requirements of engineering industries by setting up a Resource Center within Elabuga Polytechnic College dedicated to continuous multidisciplinary training of workers and specialists under the programs of secondary, primary and further professional education. The participants in the program include the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Republic of Tatarstan, SOLLERS, Executive Committee of Elabuga Municipal District and Elabuga Polytechnic College.

The project has already went through several stages: development, approval and  assessment of  curricula, programs of continuous training for skilled workers and specialists, modular educational programs, regulatory documents and benchmarks for certification procedures of Resource Center alumni.

The engineering teaching personnel of the college participated in internships organized at SOLLERS-ELABUGA plant  in order to reduce the gap between “academic” knowledge and required skills. At the same time, skilled specialists of the company are leading certain modules in the college.

To exercise their primary professional skills in the realities of a production plant, college students are regularly engaged in practical training in the subdivisions of the enterprise. Thus, in 2009–2010 school year, more than 300 college students put their knowledge into practice on SOLLERS-ELABUGA production site.

SOLLERS has also donated to college the technological equipment valued at more than 11 million rubles, which provided the basis for training and production facilities. These facilities include “Tool and bench workshop”, “Wiring workshop”, “Training ground for drivers of trucks” and “Workshop for leveling works”.
