OREANDA-NEWS. February 02, 2011. Belarus’ average wage in nominal terms reached 1,595,900 Belarusian rubles (Br) [equivalent to USD 530] in December 2010, up 11.7% month-on-month, an official with the National Statistics Committee stated.

In real terms [adjusted for the increase in the consumer prices], the average monthly wage went up 10.6% on the month. In 2010, the average wage increased 14.9% on the year in real terms.

The average wage in Minsk reached 2.096 million rubles in December, in the Minsk Region 1.521 million rubles, in the Gomel Region 1.495 million rubles, in the Grodno Region 1.469 million rubles, in the Brest Region 1.412 million rubles, in the Vitebsk Region 1.459 million rubles, and in the Mogilev Region 1.449 million rubles.

In manufacturing, monthly wages averaged 1.729 million rubles, in construction 1.984 million rubles, in transport 1.751 million rubles, in telecoms 1.786 million rubles, in agriculture 993,200 rubles, in retail and public catering 1.336 million rubles, in healthcare 1.447 million rubles, in education 1.292 million rubles, in science 2.393 million rubles, in sports 2.000 million rubles, and in culture 1.301 million rubles.
