OREANDA-NEWS. February 08, 2011. During February and March clients can come into any branch of SEB and renew the codes and certificates they need to carry out transactions using their ID cards free of charge, reported the press-centre of SEB.

This forms part of the bank’s promotion of the use of ID cards among its clients. SEB’s experience shows that the number of people who use their ID cards in bank channels during the period of submission of tax returns increases enormously, and that every year there are more and more of those who carry on using their ID cards on a regular basis.

“The elections are coming up, and it’ll soon be time to be lodging our tax returns again,” said Eerika Vaikmae-Koit, head of SEB’s Retail Banking and Technology Division. “If your ID card’s in good working order, it makes these things much easier to do. If your ID card codes are out of date, you can get new ones free of charge from the bank. We encourage our clients to make full use of their ID cards, since compared to password cards they’re a much more secure way of identifying yourself.”
