OREANDA-NEWS. February 09, 2011. S7 Airlines has signed a code-sharing agreement with major British airline British Airways and oneworld® partner, opening up joint flights from Russian regions via Moscow (Domodedovo) to London (Heathrow), reported the press-centre of S7 Airlines.

The airlines' joint flights will begin on 8 February 2011. Flights from the regions to Moscow fly on S7 Airlines planes, and those from Moscow to London will be on British Airways aircraft. The Moscow – London route will be served three times a day, giving passengers the best choices for making connections.

S7 Group Deputy Chief Executive Anton Eremin said: “We are happy to improve our cooperation with British Airways. Code-sharing partnerships afford passengers from both companies’ wide opportunities: new flights are always appearing to countries and cities, and the frequency of flights is increasing on already-existing flights. For our passengers' convenience, a single ticket can be issued for the flight all the way through to the final destination.”

British Airways General Manager Europe and Africa, Gavin Halliday, said: “Russia is an important market for us and we are pleased that our relationship with S7 is developing well. The code-share with S7 will give our customers much better access to many more cities across Russia and help S7 customers take advantage of better links to Heathrow Terminal 5.”

British Airways is now S7 Airlines' ninth code-sharing partner.

Both S7 Airlines and British Airways are members of the oneworld global airline alliance.
