OREANDA-NEWS. February 09, 2011. As part of celebrations of the 20th anniversary of Renova Group a corporate conference entitled "Habitat under Principals of Energy Efficiency. In the Company? In the City? In our Country?" was held.

It was attended by the President of CJSC IES Mikhail Slobodin, Director of the Center for Strategic Research North-West Vladimir Knyaginin, Managing Partner of the Moscow Office of McKinsey Yermolay Solzhenitsyn, representatives of international financial institutions and Renova Group.

In the course of the conference the participants became acquainted with the Russian and international experience in energy efficiency and resources saving, considered the approaches and achievements in this field of the Renova Group companies working in metals industry, transport, building and construction, energy and communal services and other segments, identified promising directions and objectives of the Renova Group companies.

In his welcoming remarks to the conference, made on behalf of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Renova Group, V. F. Vekselberg noted: "To our minds, energy efficiency has always been one of the strategic priorities for the implementation of business projects. We see that the movement in this direction opens up new business opportunities. In this regard, it is important now to assess the prospects and to generate a long-term action plan. I hope that the ideas appearing today will actually become those for the prosperous future of Renova Group."

For the purposes of the conference a coordinating committee was established. Its task will be the formation and maintenance of an integrated special-purpose program on energy efficiency of Renova Group, as well as the monitoring of to what extent the desired objectives of the Renova Group businesses has been accomplished. President of IES Holding, Mikhail Slobodin, was appointed the Head of the Committee

 "We are starting the project titled Energy-Efficient Corporation. This is a package of effective and compulsory measures which will enable all the business areas to use energy more wisely," Mr. Slobodin emphasized.
