OREANDA-NEWS. February 10, 2011. Being the largest grain processor in Siberia and the Far East, PAVA has finalized the results of the year 2010. According to the company, the year was not easy as the situation on the market changed rapidly several times influenced by the factors of local and global scale.

"If we look at the situation from the beginning of 2010 we can see that the supply greatly surpassed the demand. There was a lot of grain in the market, which led to a sharp fall in the prices for grain, flour and other grain processed products. At the beginning of last year the price hit the record level. And then after such rapid decrease the prices began to rise as grain fields in Russia and abroad were partially destroyed in the course of natural disasters. At that time we could witness record-breaking increase in prices", – says PAVA’s commercial director Angela Kiseleva.

Rapid changes of market situation had an impact on the distribution of Altay flour. At the beginning of the year during the period of overproduction and low prices flour market of the European part of Russia was mostly closed. During the second half of the year as the prices were going up these regions became more accessible. During this period PAVA successfully signed a number of contracts and entered new regions such as Astrakhan, Belgorod, Kaliningrad, Tula and Kostroma regions.

Regardless of all these hardships and upturns, the Company kept loyal to the principles of socially responsible business. As before, in 2010 PAVA provided support to centers of social help of Barnaul, Altay territory, as well as to youth unions and monasteries.

As a whole, PAVA’s representatives give positive evaluation of the past year. Judging from 2010 results the anti-crisis strategy 2009 turned out successful as it created a platform that helped PAVA to develop effectively and realize envisaged projects in 2010.
