OREANDA-NEWS. February 11, 2011. A three-day working visit of the delegation from SUE “Vodokanal of Saint-Petersburg” to KAMAZ has come to an end today.

Within the limits of the visit, a technical conference was held in the course of which specialists of KAMAZ shared with their guests their view of development problems of communal services and the leading Russian truck producer’s role in finding solutions to these problems. Boris Gogolashvili, Design Manager of Production Vehicles of OJSC KAMAZ’s R&D Center, addressed the meeting on a model range, developments improving quality and operation life of KAMAZ trucks, analyzed these vehicles in comparison with competitors’ products, and gave examples of operational testing of KAMAZ vehicles. The specialists considered KAMAZ’s product portfolio for corporate clients, dealt with questions of service and warranty maintenance of KAMAZ vehicles. KAMAZ’s experts told about their fleet renewal solutions which they implement using “trade-in” and complete overhaul schemes. The guests saw presentations of KAMAZ’s subsidiaries –NEFAZ and Leasing Company KAMAZ.

The members of the delegation visited the Research and Development Center of KAMAZ where they saw an exhibition of machinery, visited CUMMINS KAMA Joint Venture for production of Cummins engines located on the territory of KAMAZ-Diesel Inc. The guests were shown the mother assembly conveyor at KAMAZ’s automobile plant. They also visited OOO RariTEK, KAMAZ’s partner engaged in production and service of gas-fired vehicles.

Then, the guests from St. Petersburg saw a presentation of another joint venture of the auto giant – ZAO Mercedes-Benz Trucks Vostok – in the general directorate of OJSC KAMAZ. It should be recalled that this JV was established at the end of 2009 within the bounds of development of strategic partnership between KAMAZ and Daimler AG. In October 2010, it launched production of Mercedes-Benz Actros and Axor heavy trucks.

OJSC KAMAZ is the largest manufacturer of various vehicles. KAMAZ machinery is used in many spheres including communal services. The company produces a diverse range of municipal vehicles on different KAMAZ chassis jointly with its partners manufacturing special equipment: garbage trucks, canal-washing machines, vacuum vehicles, sludge collectors, combined road machines, rotary snow ploughs, and street sweepers. KAMAZ-43253 four-wheeled chassis, KAMAZ-53215, -53229, -53228, -6520, -43114, -43118, -4308 six-wheeled chassis are often used for this purpose. The enterprise repeatedly executed orders for delivery of municipal special-purpose vehicles to cities and regions of Russia and the near abroad, including Moscow and St. Petersburg.
