DTEK Summarizes Results of Social Partnership Program in 2010
OREANDA-NEWS. February 14, 2011. Coordination Committee meeting took place in Donetsk, where the parties summarized the results of the Social Partnership Programme for 2010 between DTEK and the towns where the Company runs its business. Currently, 15 towns and 4 districts of Donetsk, Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporozhye and Lugansk regions of Ukraine* became participants of the Programme. In 2010, DTEK invested UAH 11.6m for social-economic development of those areas.
In 2010, priority directions of DTEK’s social partnership were energy efficiency, education, health care and improvement of the towns and districts’ infrastructure. The key projects included improving energy efficiency of heating networks of Kurakhovo town in the Donetsk region (implemented with support of the USAID project “Municipal Heating Reform in Ukraine”) and equipping four medical care units in Western Donbass.
In 2010, DTEK’s Social Partnership Programme expanded geographically: 11 new members joined the Programme: town councils of Rovenki and Sverdlovsk, Lugansk region; Mospino town council, Donetsk region; Dnepropetrovsk city council, Samarskiy district council of Dnepropetrovsk city, Energodar town council of Zaporozhye region and Zelenodolsk town council of Dnepropetrovsk region. In 2011, Mariinka District State Administration of the Donetsk region and Petrovka village Council of Stanichno-Luganskiy District of the Lugansk region have joined the Social Partnership Declaration.
“We are satisfied with results in 2010, and we are planning to launch several new projects in 2011 with support of our partners. The Company’s key priorities remain the same: we continue to work on energy efficiency, upgrading housing municipal utilities and improving ecology. We also study SME development opportunities, plan joint training projects with Microsoft, the leader of IT industry, and invest in health care of our employees and residents of the towns where our Company operates. All DTEK’s Corporate Social Responsibility projects will be systematic and comprehensive, they will initiate real improvements in people’s lives”, Alexander Tolkach, Director for External Affairs of DTEK commented.
