OREANDA-NEWS. February 15, 2011. The senior management of Transaero Airlines and Moscow Domodedovo Airport held a meeting on February 10 to discuss joint efforts for the establishment of additional security measures at the airport.

On its own initiative Transaero Airlines has decided to increase its contribution to aviation security at Domodedovo Airport in accordance with the Federal Aviation Regulations and current Russian legislation.

Transaero's aviation security department will set up additional fixed security checkpoints at the airport to increase Transaero aircraft security, specifically for the prevention of unauthorized access to aircraft.

Transaero will increase the number of flights on which passengers have to undergo an interview with airline security officers prior to check-in, the so-called 'profiling' procedure common at international airports worldwide. In addition to flights on which profiling is already a standard practice, the procedure will also be integrated to pre-check-in procedures on many other destinations.

Transaero will establish a special division to carry out additional control on all pre-flight procedures including catering, baggage and cargo. The staff for the division will be trained in the best Israeli and US training centers.

In joint effort with the Domodedovo Airport canine team and other specialized airport services Transaero Airlines will introduce its own canine security unit for full security inspection of all flights and MRO stations.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport has confirmed its willingness to support Transaero's additional security control measures.
