OREANDA-NEWS. February 21, 2011. It was said to journalists by the Finance Minister Veaceslav Negruta. He said that during the negotiations with the International Monetary Fund assessment mission they had only talked about the beginning of discussions regard privatization and preparation of some enterprises for possible privatization. The Minister emphasized that they could be put up for privatization at a proper moment and this will not necessarily happen this year.

According to him, the government’s privatization plans will be announced only after a thorough study of the public enterprises’ last year financial-economic activity has been carried out, their work efficiency and investments and other factors have been estimated. Speaking of the PCRM deputies’ statements according to which the government undertook to privatize Moldtelecom, Banca de Economii and Air Moldova in its agreement with the IMF, Veaceslav Negruta reminded that it was Vasile Tarlev’s government that undertook to prepare Banca de Economii for privatization and appointed a privatization consultant.

In his turn, the chairman of the parliamentary commission for economy, budget and finance Veaceslav Ionita said he didn’t believe in solution of such a problem as privatization of the Moldtelecom, Banca de Economii, Air Moldova and other enterprises which has been discussed already for 10 years, in 2011.

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy of Moldova Valeriu Lazar said earlier that the Moldovan government would revise the list of enterprises subject to privatization and would perhaps suggest variants of privatization of a series of big public enterprises.
