OREANDA-NEWS. February 24, 2011. Director General of ROSATOM Sergey Kirienko February 22 made a one-day working visit to Iran where he negotiated with Iran’s Vice President and new head of the Organization of Atomic Energy of Iran (OAEI) Fereidum Abbasi-Davani.
 
The parties discussed topical issues of preparation of Bushehr NPP to reaching the minimum controlled power, including operation of the equipment supplied more than 30 years ago and integrated in the design. 
 
Besides, S. Kirienko and F. Abbasi-Davani noted with satisfaction positive results of tests of a pilot batch of medical radioisotopes molybdenum and iodine delivered to Iran on February 18. Such results allow concluding a contract for supply of radioisotopes for needs of the Iranian health industry in an amount of up to 100 curie per week of molybdenum-99 and iodine-131.
 
Also, S. Kirienko met Iran Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Akbar Salehi who until recent headed the Organization of Atomic Energy of Iran. The ROSATOM Director General thanked Dr. Salehi for the fruitful cooperation during his time as the head of the Iranian nuclear industry.
