OREANDA-NEWS. February 28, 2011. Kazakhtelecom held the annual meeting on performance results for 2010 with involvement of chief executives of affiliates, subsidiaries and foreign representations, reported the press-centre of KASE.

As of January 1, 2011, the number of the broad banded Internet users made up 1,756,838 people, the number of ports - 765,817 units. From January 2010, the company introduced a service of the high-speed Internet access under the umbrella brand iD - iD Net, which allows providing a competitive speedy external resources up to 2 Mbps and internal resources up to 100 Mbps, and the speed threshold makes up 40 GB. As of January 1, 2011, the iDNet service is being provided in the following cities of Kazakhstan: Astana, Almaty, Taraz, Pavlodar, Aktobe, Shymkent, Atyrau, Karaganda and Aktau. In 2010, Kazakhtelecom implemented an action on twofold increase of the Internet access speed for legal entities, under which this category of users has been switched to new conditions.

By the end of 2010, the number of iDTV services users made up 30,078, and by 4.2 times higher than at the year beginning. From June 2010, the iDTV service under the special tariff plan is being provided to residents of districts capital cities and districts settlements.

In 2010, Kazakhtelecom decreased tariffs for long-distance communication services with CIS and foreign countries from 30% to 70%. The tariffs for legal entities were decreased by 4.5 times.
