OREANDA-NEWS. February 28, 2011. A commencement ceremony was convened by State Nuclear Baoti Zirconium Industry Company (SNZ) for the installation works of the 40MN horizontal double-action extruder on the project site. Zhao Yonglong, Standing Vice General Manager of MCC-SFRE Heavy lndustry & Equipment Co., Ltd. (MCC-SFRE), was present at the event. In addition, leaders of SNZ (including its Chairman, President and Chief Engineer), Vice President of Xi’an Heavy Machinery Research Institute (XHMRI) and relevant leaders of China 22MCC Group also took part in this ceremony, reported the press-centre of MCC.

The 40MN horizontal double-action extruder is not only China’s first set specialized extruding equipment for nuclear-related zirconium alloy, but also the largest extruder in the northwest of China, filling the domestic gap in the extruding field of titanium tube. In addition, it is one of the most important equipment of SNZ, which is featured by the largest engineering quantity, the largest covering area, complicated process for installation and commissioning, as well as high risk for hoisting and installation of single component. This device was contacted by XHMRI on an EPC basis, while the manufacturing of the whole equipment and the on-site installation were conducted by MCC-SFRE.
