OREANDA-NEWS. February 28, 2011. During the period 11- 24 February 2011, SCF Group took delivery of all six Aframax type ice-class shuttle tankers acquired from Primorsk International Shipping Ltd. Following this transaction, the Group has significantly broadened its involvement in servicing the major energy projects of Sakhalin-1 and Sakhalin-2.

Sovcomflot’s Executive Board Member Sergey Popravko noted: “The delivery and acceptance process for the shuttle tankers Sakhalin Island, Captain Kostichev, Governor Farkhutdinov, Pavel Chernysh, Zaliv Aniva and Viktor Titov went according to plan, following a procedure developed in advance by Unicom Ship Management and reconciled with the Charterer. The ships’ delivery did not impact the schedule of oil transportation from the ports of De-Kastri and Prigorodnoye. The company’s tankers continue to service the needs of customers under the terms of their current time-charter agreements.”

As of February 2011, the number of ships in the Group’s fleet increased by seven vessels representing an additional 736,000 tonnes dwt.
