OREANDA-NEWS. March 2, 2011. Transaero Airlines announces its operating results for the first month of 2011 which indicate steady growth of the carrier's business during the period.

In January 2011:

Passenger turnover reached 2.498 billion RPK (25.4% increase in comparison with the first month of 2010).

The total number of passengers carried amounted to 498,572 (19.1% increase in comparison with the same period last year).

Transaero transported a total amount of 2,373 tons of cargo (38.1% increase in comparison with January of 2010).

Cargo traffic totaled 238.291 million RTK (26% increase in comparison with the same period last year).

In January 2011 Transaero launched first-ever nonstop Moscow – Rio-de-Janeiro flight as well as resumed operations on Moscow – Mauritius route.
