OREANDA-NEWS. March 03, 2011. TTK, one of Russia’s largest Internet backbone providers, has announced a connection to the DE-CIX (Deutscher Commercial Internet Exchange) Internet traffic exchange point in Frankfurt, reported the press-centre of TTK.

Connection to DE-CIX was organized under a program to expand the international segment of TTK’s network. By the end of 2010, the company was providing customers with access to foreign Internet resources in two of Europe’s leading Internet traffic exchange centers – London (LINX) and Amsterdam (AMS-IX).

Connection to a third major European point in Frankfurt will allow TTK to optimize its channel infrastructure and improve connectivity of the network’s international segment, as well as increase accessibility of foreign Internet resources for the company’s customers. At present, DE-CIX serves more than 350 carriers and content providers in more than 40 countries at its six hubs.

TTK President Artem Kudryavtsev commented on the event: “We’re working continuously to improve reliability and quality of access for our customers to key Internet content resources. Today, TTK’s backbone network has points of presence in three major European Internet traffic concentration centers – Amsterdam, London and Frankfurt. This significantly improves communication quality in TTK’s international segment and guarantees our customers high-quality and backup access to popular foreign Internet resources.”
