OREANDA-NEWS. March 03, 2011. Work is performed in the area of Kudepsta settlement now. From this, fourth and last sea exit, the gas pipeline continues its way towards Adler.

A special tunnel that connected the sea with the land was drilled for the pipeline in this locality. This facility is unique by being drilled by directional method. Drifting is nearing completion; just several hundreds of meters are left till the target. A few weeks later, specialists are supposed to begin laying down a natural gas pipe. Such pipeline is protected against mechanical damage and avalanche-caused ground movement. These technologies help mitigate environmental damage: the natural landscape is preserved; the construction site is compact.

The sea section and the land section of the Dzhubga/Lazarevskoye/Sochi gas pipeline are to be joined by this summer. The fuel supplied through the new pipeline is to be supplied to the Adler TPP and to institutions and residents of the area.

The Dzhubga/Lazarevskoye/Sochi gas pipeline is one of the major Olympic facilities. Its length is 177 km; the biggest portion of the route passes on the Black Sea bottom. The responsible contractor is Gazprom OJSC.
