OREANDA-NEWS. March 10, 2011. Belarus and FLLC Mebeline have signed an investment agreement to create a furniture production in the free economic zone Mogilev with foreign investment volume of 15 million euros, including capital investments of 8.2 million euros. The document was signed at a meeting between Chairman of Mogilev region administration Petr Rudnik and representatives of the Lithuanian company.

FLLC Mebeline, which is responsible for implementing the project, was established by Lithuanian SBA concern. The company will be making furniture from IKEA collections; the new production will create 276 new jobs. The entire output will be exported.

SBA Vice-President Egidijus Valentinavicius said the company was operating on other CIS markets, such as Russia and Ukraine, and will learn from its lessons on those markets. “We will build an advanced plant n Belarus, and people will be happy to work there,” he said.

SBA was founded in 1990. It controls SBA BALDAI retail chain and nine furniture productions.
