OREANDA-NEWS. March 11, 2011. The visitors of the 11th session of the Joint Intergovernmental Russian-Turkish Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation which was held in Kazan saw KAMAZ vehicles running on gas fuel.

The KAMAZ exposition was presented to Rustam Minnikhanov, the RT President, and also co-chairmen of the commission – Igor Sechin, Deputy Chairman of the RF Government, and Taner Yildiz, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey. The distinguished guests were accompanied by Sergey Kogogin, Director General of OJSC KAMAZ, and Rafael Batyrshin, Director General of OOO RariTEK, KAMAZ’s partner developing, manufacturing and servicing vehicles running on gas fuel.

The demonstrated samples – the NEFAZ-5299-30-31 city low-entry bus, the 4208-10-41 special bus (6x6), the KAMAZ-65115-30 three-way dumper, the mobile gas refueller on the KAMAZ-43118 gas-powered chassis, the AP100S-T400-1R gas engine generator plant generating 100 kW – made a great impression on Igor Sechin. He promised to inform Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister of the RF, about gas KAMAZ vehicles as a real alternative to diesel vehicles.

The use of compressed natural gas (methane) as engine fuel is considered to be efficient and eco-friendly. Over ten years ago, KAMAZ was actually the first Russian enterprise which started mastering production of gas vehicles on its chassis, cooperating with subsidiaries and small- and medium-scale businesses specializing in manufacture of components for such machinery.
