OREANDA-NEWS. March 16, 2011. There was a graduation of the first students of the Youth School of Oil and Gas, arranged by JSC NC “KazMunayGas” and KAZENERGY Association at the initiative of the Business Council of Youth in Astana. 26 students from ENU, KazATU, KazGYU and students of Professional Lyceum 6 received certificates of successful completion of the Youth School of Oil and Gas.

The purpose of the school is to familiarize students of non-oil and gas majors, with specifics and peculiarities of development of the oil and gas industry in the country and in the world.

The specialists of JSC NC "KazMunayGas”, the Ministry of Oil and Gas of the RK, the Ministry of Environment Protection of the RK, the Ministry of Industry and New Technology of the RK, PF “Investment Profitability Investigation Agency”, JSC “Kazakhstan Electricity Grid Operating Company”, JSC “NAC “Kazatompom”, BG Kazakhstan and Cameco Kazakhstan were giving lessons during 2 months there.

As part of this course the students attended lectures on strategic oil and gas projects and industry development trends, on role and place of Kazakhstan in ensuring energy security in Eurasia, on development of alternative energy and many others.

Kaiyrbolat Sakhmetov, President of the Business Council of Youth in Astana, presented letters of gratitude to the lectors for their contribution to the development of competitive ability of the Kazakhstan’s youth.

- We express our high appreciation to the lectors for sparing their time to speak at the courses despite tight schedule and workload, for their professional attitude and experience they shared with young people, - K. Sakhanov noticed.

- Through my participation in this project I managed to show my creative, intellectual and organizing skills, which will be a good basis for my successful career in the future, - one of the students, Nazerke Yertayeva, said.

An entertaining oil and gas quiz was held for the students after the ceremony. The most active participants received mementos.

Given the popularity of the Youth School of Oil and Gas among the students, the organizers are planning another admission of students.
