OREANDA-NEWS. March 17, 2011. Moldova’s incomes from privatization of the state property in 2011 are planned on the level of 280 million leis (USD 23.3 million). These indicators are fixed in the draft Law on 2011 state budget approved by the government on March 12.

It is stipulated that all incomes from sale and privatization of state property this year will be used to cover the state budget deficit, which will amount to 1,266.9 million leis (USD 105.6 million) in 2011. The Director General of the Agency for Public Property with the Ministry of Economy of Moldova Tudor Copaci said earlier that the government expects to earn a much bigger amount of money from privatization this year than it was fixed in the budget.

According to him, the moderate figures have been fixed as it is unknown yet what enterprises will be put up for privatization, including those from the list of objects banned from privatization at the moment but which will be permitted for sale after the respective amendments are introduced into the legislation. Tudor Copaci said the public enterprises’ activity, their sales evolution, profit, assets, management work, prospects of further development will be thoroughly analyzed after their annual reports are received.

According to him, the decision about the possible privatization of such enterprises as Moldtelecom, Banca de Economii, Air Moldova and other important objects, which are strategic, will be made on the political level. It should be noted that Moldova’s income from privatization in 2010 totaled about 100 million leis instead of the planned 430 million leis.
